I’ve mentioned the Qigong Teacher Training Program many different times in my posts, both here on the website and on my social media. Here is the link to get more information about that program. You can also meet Chris Shelton, and learn a little more about Shelton Qigong in my Q&A Session with him.
If you want to try out some of their live classes, they have a Qi Club that meets Monday-Thursday at 8 a.m. PST. It’s a great way to start the morning, or for me (at 11 a.m. EST), a great way to take a movement break in the middle of working on things. If you can’t make it live, no worries, the classes are recorded each day and are available for a week.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays, Chris goes over some of the Qigong basics that you find on his YouTube channel, but he also teachs more in depth practices as well. On Mondays and Wednesdays Parisa does Qi Stretch and Release, which includes some strengthening exercises, balance exercises, and also yoga, along with Qigong. No matter what we’re doing or learning, we’re always having fun!!!
To get your first month free, click here to sign up. I’ll QI you there! =)

Try Tru Earth Laundry Strips – a great way to get your clothes clean and help the environment at the same time.
Why Tru Earth Laundry Strips?
One, these strips come in a compostable cardboard sleeve rather than being in a plastic jug that can’t be recycled. This packaging is lighter, more compact, and better for the environment.
And two, I started using these laundry strips about 6 months ago, I love them, and I want to share them with all of you. (If you want to read the full story, keep scrolling. If you’re ready to buy now, click here to visit the Tru Earth website.)
I randomly came across the Tru Earth Laundry Strips when I was on Instagram. I’m always on the lookout for more natural, Earth friendly products to use at home, so I thought, “why not”.
To say that I was skeptical about how these strips would work, and if they would really work at all, is an understatement. Many of the “natural” products that I’ve used in the past just haven’t been very good. I wanted them to be, I wished they were, I tried to convince myself that they were, but they weren’t. I was also worried that the strips wouldn’t dissolve well and the residue would end up on my clothing.
I washed towels in them first to see how they would do. No residue. I also did a little experiment where I put one into the sink and watched how it dissolved. After watching it dissolve completely, I was confident that it would work just as well in the washing machine. =)
It wasn’t until a couple of days later that my thoughts of – “hm, this is not bad” – turned into – “wow, this stuff really works”.
I have an article of clothing that was white when I bought it. Let’s just say, over the years, it has become a little dingy. I just accepted that it was that way because I wear it a lot. But, I saw it hanging after I had washed it in the Tru Earth laundry strips and it was whiter than I had seen it in a long time. I was shocked!
Over the next couple of weeks, I noticed the same thing about our other clothes. Everything seemed to be brighter and feel better after being washed with these strips. (Again, this isn’t a common thing with most of the natural products I had tried, so I was a happy camper.)
I was really excited because, not only were our clothes getting cleaner, I no longer had a plastic jug to feel guilty about throwing away. The Tru Earth Laundry Strips come in a cardboard container that can easily be recycled. In our area, and I know a lot of other areas as well, we can’t recycle plastic any more at all. So not having that big jug to throw away has been great!!
The laundry strips come in 8, 32, 64, and 384 load packages, depending on what you need each month.
For my husband and I, the 32 pack of fragrance-free strips lasts us about a month. We don’t have kids in the house; it’s just the two of us and our fur baby. For most families I would probably recommend getting at least the 64 pack, but really it depends on how many people you have, how many wardrobe changes everyone has each day (with sports, work, exercise, pajamas, etc.), and how many you use.
For smaller loads you just use one strip and for larger loads you use two. For most of our loads, I use one and it works really well. I only use two on the extra-large, extra dirty stuff.
To use the laundry strips, you simply put it in the bottom of the washing machine tub, throw your clothes in, and start the washer. They work with any temperature of water just as well.
Our washing machine is a top loading HE that has the little “cup” that you put the detergent in. I tear the strips into smaller pieces, put it in the cup, and start the washer. They dissolve every time.
When you purchase, you sign up for a monthly subscription, but there’s no contract, and you can change the size that you order anytime. So, if you start out thinking, I’m only going to need 32, and you quickly realize that 32 isn’t going to cut it, you can up what you get each month. You also have the option to change how often the strips are delivered. I recently changed our subscription to the 384 pack, once a year. If I need more, I know I can get them, but this way, I’m helping to reduce packaging and the energy needed to deliver them as well.
If I had to give you one downside to the Tru Earth Laundry Strips, it would be the shipping process.
Because the company is smaller, it takes a little longer to get your items, but they are making efforts to remedy this. AND, once you get into a monthly routine, it won’t be an issue. I always get my shipment right when I need it; when I have just a few strips left. So, it may only be an issue at the beginning, when you’re trying to figure out how many strips you need for the month (or whatever time period you have them delivered in) – or it may not be an issue at all. I like to mention it, just in case.
When I first ordered, I put the rest of my jug detergent back, just in case I didn’t get the number of strips right the first time. That way I wouldn’t have to go out and buy a whole new jug. That’s why I suggest that most families start with at least 64. If you find that this is too much you can always back it back down to 32, or spread the deliveries out a bit.
Again, once you figure out your routine, it won’t be an issue. Even with the slow downs that are happening right now, I haven’t had any problems with delivery and having enough strips to last me.
